[it's not the end of the screaming. vi has it in her to yell a few more times, some things making more sense than others, but she doesn't care if shoyo hears - the fact that he does hear is what offers a bit more relief - relief she'd usually find sparring or sporting - but today she just doesn't have the mental strength for either. maybe she could find it if she tried - she likely could - but she doesn't want to. she's tired of being strong.

it's good to see him yell, too - to hear it - there's a lot he's got to say, and maybe ...well, obviously ...he needs this, too.

after the last shout she sinks back into the sand, but not before reaching for a towel to shove under herself at the last moment - she's already sandy. she hopes the evil death wizard has more, and in all the worst places. silco, too.]

[he's right. nothing will make this ...good. they just have to get past it, or around it or through it - whatever. lines in the metaphorical sand have already been drawn - people have died, words have been given that can't be taken back. she sighs, reaching for picanha's cold, wet, omen-nose if it's there to be found.

as if on belated cue (fang is on fang's time, really) vi's omen forms into a small enough version of themself that they're just about collie sized, leans into the warmth of the fire and lets out a soft huff as her tail flops onto violet's feet.]

Yeah. I ...hate it. [a tiny half-shrug] But at least we're still here?

[she knows those people must exist - those who just want to be home - and there would have been a time when she'd have felt the same. it's more the moment she was plucked from than anything else. there's nothing left (maybe) to go back to. contemplating what might be back there is ...worse than being here, even if it means being without caitlin, or without her sister.]

Me too. It's the people I have here. The people who ...maybe need me? [her mouth twists a little. is that even a thing? she's carved herself a little space, sure, but ...is she really needed? well. she's certainly needed more than silco is.] The people we need?

Back at ya. [see. what she did. there. haha she is just. so funny.] I've got your fronts, too.

Oh, I lost that a long time ago when my face hit the sand.

[another joke as she bumps her knuckles against his, but she's watching as he shifts his legs, and she positions her own similarly, even though they feel like dead weight just now. fang moves aside and curls around behind her - if nothing else to assist in keeping her upright. vi smiles at the first compliment, stills at the second, blinking but not balking.]

Yeah. Sure, I'll give it a go.

[she lets out a breath, unsure of what to do next.]

[it's easier to relax than usual because of the exhaustion, but still - yeah, a bit of leftover tension there that the warmth of her omen - the fire - and the tone of shoyo's voice helps to ease out of her. breathing is pretty easy once she realizes she keeps holding it (maybe that's one reason she's sighing so much). where her thoughts had been racing days earlier - and this might have been impossible - now? she's drank, screamed, cried, punched and shouted at the ocean until all her waves are defeated, and she's more just like the shallow pool she'd found on the beach, or the crackling cinders of what had been a blaze. her mind wanders a few times, but it's back to breath soon enough. some of those breaths are sighs, but, hey.

she comes out to the beach every morning to look for her sister, and to look for starks. she can take a few moments there, or on the roof of her room when the moon is safe to be under.]
