🐴 skittishness: gained june 2023. shoyo is easily spooked and incredibly skittish by loud noises and sudden movements, comparable to a horse's reactive flight response. he's more likely to run from something that startles him, but will sometimes attack if he feels greatly threatened, angered and/or cornered. he'll also transition into horse form unwillingly the scarier the noise or movement.
🐴 dark, thick nails: gained june 2023. shoyo's nails have become black and thick.
🐴 iron/silver weakness: gained june 2023. shoyo has a weakness to anything iron of silver, burning his skin like hot metal would and causing his wounds to foam.
🐴 green & orange skin tint: gained july 2023. shoyo's skin holds an orange tint with splashed of pool-green spots.

🐴 horse ears: gained july 2023. shoyo has a pair of fully functioning burgundy horse ears close to the top of his head. the swivel and constantly follow noises around him.

🐴 sharpened senses: gained july 2023. shoyo's sense of sight and hearing have improved, sometimes being the source of his reactivity. they are exceptional underwater especially, allowing him to hear and see perfectly when submerged.

🐴 horse form shapeshifting: gained august 2023. shoyo can become a foal. seafoam bubbles mound around him to shift back and forth; this form is mostly seen when shoyo is spooked into it or driven by hunger.

🐴 bioluminescence: gained august 2023. shoyo's bioluminescence shines from his green patches, seaweed tendrils, the inside of his mouth and his tongue.
🐴 hunger for human energy: gained august 2023. shoyo's hunger is based on kelpie myth in that they are lonely creatures looking for company. when shoyo becomes "hungry", he instead feels a maddening, escalating loneliness that only satiates when he feeds. this causes him to act depressive the lonelier he is, but eerily happy when he has found his company. his hunting is more of an attractive display to draw victims in with his playful nature and cute horse antics, all that seems otherwise inoffensive. he drains energy by getting his victims to drown, then consequently sucking away at their life force to finish the job. shoyo then experiences a post-feeding high that may last anywhere between a few minutes to an hour.
